WHAT IS GAMES IN A SNAP?
Games in a Snap is a community event focused on creating a fun, competitive event to anchor a community around for games such as (but not limited to) City Builders, tycoon games, and management sims that don't typically get much (if any) competitive spotlight on them. This event creates a competitive atmosphere in a game where none was envisioned, gets players thinking on their feet, and generates a deeper sense of community.
WHEN IS GAMES IN A SNAP?
The event currently take place Saturdays at 14:00 CST and lasts for 2.5 - 3 hours on Twitch.tv/gamesinasnap.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The event is structured in three parts.
First: The Building Phase.
The building phase lasts two hours, has interviews throughout with the contestants, and is done on a predetermined map (when applicable) that is only revealed to the players in the hour leading up to the event itself.
Second: The Showcase.
Each Streamer then has five minutes to showcase their builds to the host(s), audience, and any guest judges that may be present.
Third: The Judging Phase.
The final phase is judging, in which the host(s), the audience, and any guest judge(s) rate their cities using categories such as beautification, detail, size, activity, unique qualities, etc. then vote for their top pick(s). When a winner is settled on, the winner is notified immediately, and the event comes to a close.
